Reversible Springtime Scarf

Scarfs and headscarfs seem to be everywhere this season! Here’s mini version made out of an old dress shirt and a left over piece of Liberty print fabric (about 3/4 a yard). So chic. So Spring. Make one for Mommy too! Read more below for how-to.

Scarf is a large triangle measuring 25″ in length, 12″ in height. A men’s size medium shirt should give ample fabric for the shirt side of the scarf. Pin pom pom trim between the right sides of the Liberty fabric and shirt fabric on the angle sides of the scarf (leaving straight bottom part of triangle trim free). The zipper foot comes in handy for a close stitch next to the pom pom trim. Leave three to four inches open on the trim-free side of the scarf so you can reverse scarf to right side. Once scarf is reversed to right side, edge (or top) stitch (about 1/8″ to scarf edge) the remaining open three to four inches. Lightly press with iron  . . . and voila, a perfectly chic springtime scarf!

Admiring the dedication you put into your site and detailed information you offer. It’s great to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same old rehashed information. Fantastic read! I’ve saved your site and I’m adding your RSS feeds to my Google account.
